Caterpillars Baby and Toddler Group, run by qualified Early Years practitioners from Ladybirds Pre-School, is held weekly in Thorrington Village Hall.
We open from 09:30am to 11:30am, during school term-time. Open to all babies and toddlers, from birth to school age, we offer a safe, secure and stimulating environment with a wide variety of resources to cater for all ages and stages. We have a safe baby area with baby mats and bouncy chairs as well as craft, malleable, role play and construction for those more active toddlers. Our craft is often linked to themes and celebrations and if we have any specific requests regarding activities and resources, we do our absolute best to cater for them, too!
During the summer months, we have taken advantage of the warm weather and have successfully used our secure purpose built outside play space. Plenty of shade is provided with gazebos and accessible, toddler friendly equipment and activities have been very much enjoyed outside in the lovely fresh air. Weather permitting of course, but we hope to continue to use and enjoy this space all year round where possible.
Adult refreshments are provided, with unlimited access to tea and coffee throughout the session until 11am. A healthy snack and drink (milk or water) is provided for all caterpillars, with allergies catered for. (We provide beakers, cups with spouts, individual snack plates and a bottle warmer or microwave if needed for any milk warming.)
After a group ‘tidy up time’, our session concludes with its ever popular ‘song and rhyme’ time. Children love this song time and are very quick to suggest their favourites as well as rising to the challenge of learning some new ones! Our sessions are interactive with lots of props, actions and Makaton signs.
So, pop along on your own for a cuppa, or bring a friend and enjoy an informal morning of fun, friends and laughter. We will make you feel very welcome and look forward to meeting you.
